   Welcome note

Welcome to the Southern California User Group

The purpose of the User Group (SCUG) is to foster communication between users with similar experiences and challenges in their workplace. RUGs are self-directed teams of professionals from the same geographic area who meet regularly to exchange our most valuable commodity - information! We share experiences and best practices relating to the use of Oracle (JD Edwards and Peoplesoft) software.

If you are not a member and would like to attend a meeting before you decide to join, please contact the Membership Coordinator for a reservation. You can find the contact information by pointing to "About Us" and clicking on the "Board of Directors". Then click "View Profile" to view the Coordinator's information.

SCUG 3rd Quarter Meeting – September 15th, 2010, Long Beach– HURRY - REGISTER NOW 08/05/2010
Register soon for the 3rd Quarterly Southern California User Group Meeting at “The Grand” in Long Beach!

It doesn’t seem like two years has past already, but indeed it has. It is that time again where we open our Board for new Officers. At this quarter’s meeting, not only will we have our regular line up of excellent speakers and education sessions, but we will also be taking self-nominations for open Board Positions. Since User Groups are strictly volunteer, this is your opportunity to get involved and serve others by becoming an officer. Please consider your potential participation as a member of the SCUG Board.

As is customary, we start the day with networking and a light Continental Breakfast. Our President, Cheryl Pierce, will start things off, followed by a keynote from Andy Klee of JDE Tips. Education Sessions are always a highlight and this quarter we have some great speakers who wish to share their experiences with you. Lunch will be followed by the nomination process, and then another set of Education Sessions. As always, our Roundtable Sessions highlight the afternoon before we wrap up with our always anticipated raffle!

We hope you will attend as we are confident that your participation will be worth your time out of the office.

Members – please go to the website now and RSVP under events at www.jdescug.org (If you experience any technical difficulties registering online, you can also send an e-mail to info@jdescug.org and we will register you by e-mail).

Non-members are also welcome for a minimal fee of $50.00 per person payable at the on-site registration table.

We look forward to seeing you there!
Terry DeMoure Relocation 07/29/2010
Greetings to Members and Friends of S.C.U.G.

I have accepted an offer to join OYO Geospace in Houston, TX as their new Business Systems Analyst, and will be departing the Los Angeles area at the end of this month, for relocation to the Greater Houston area.

I will be resigning my Vice Presidency of the Southern California Regional Users Group for Oracle JD Edwards World and EnterpriseOne Users (S.C.U.G.) at end of this second quarter, crowning the end of my fourth year serving as your V.P. It has been awesome to be an integral part of this great R.U.G. for the last seven years.

I know I will continue networking with everyone that I have had the pleasure to meet. I am sure that we will continue to cross paths here in LinkedIn; as well as, future events hosted by Oracle and/or Quest. And next time we do cross paths, I will be carrying a new flag representing the great Houston RUG.

Please keep your eyes open for my new contact information as I will share once I get settled. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me whenever I can be of assistance.
